(review bellow the gallery..)

I love shooting concerts not only because of the unpredictability of the moment /which I adore/, but also because of the amazing energy and atmosphere on stage and in the whole venue that transfers magically onto the pictures; the fact that every moment is a surprise and  you have the chance to capture those  emotionally charged, fleeting fractions of seconds, forever.

So you can see why I fell in love photographing  Avenged Sevenfold that night. The saturation of emotions. And of course, it was SO MUCH FUN! They showed up on stage all wearing ghoulish masks, chased each other and made silly dance moves. You could tell they were having a great time. It was very hard for me to just stay and take my photos. The energy just possesses you. At one point I found myself rocking out to the songs and singing, forgotten all about the camera in my hand. But seriously how could you not? Hell, even the security guards were enjoying the show!

Photo part- I had the Best time photographing them- I love every single shot that I made, and that does not happen a lot. First of all the lighting was mind-blowing! My camera could not believe its lens how much I lowered the ISO at some point.

But even with that amazing light the photos would have sucked had I not had those great models. It is such a treat to photograph the boys- good-looking with an amazing stage attitude and presence. The symmetrical look of Syn and Zacky while shredding, Johnny’s funny faces, Matt on the risers with pyro in the background. Amazing! It is very strange they don’t have a tour photographer with them. They should, right?

I am very happy I caught some frames of the brilliant Mr. Portnoy. His drum kit was kind of far for my zoom, but I managed to steal some shots, and damn, the camera loved him, too. It was obvious he was having such an amazing time with Avenged. And that is what matters! Thank you Mike for helping our boys and carry on  Rev’s legacy and presenting his art in such a great way!

The gig- professionalism, great songs and sound quality, musical/vocal talent, lots of fun on stage, great atmosphere. That is what everyone saw and felt that night. Fun moments, emotional moments, crazy ones..

setlist- NIGHTMARE ,CRITICAL ACCLAIM ,WELCOME TO THE FAMILY, BEAST AND THE HARLOT , BURIED ALIVE, AFTERLIFE, SO FAR AWAY, GOD HATES US ,UNHOLY CONFESSIONS, ALMOST EASY.

So what else could I possibly say, except- Avenged Sevenfold kicked some serious ass!

I loved the crowd. I loved the energy the fans created and fed to the band, and vice versa. We all know A7X  and their fans have special connection. It was great being part of that. The majority of the people there had obviously come for them, fans had a blast, pits were mental, everyone was fully enjoying the set. There was one last surprise from the band in the end before they went backstage they threw  large amounts of Halloween candy into the crowd.

I really had a Blast! Also it was my first time seeing and shooting the guys. Met some wonderful people, chatted with the super nice A7X publicist, the venue staff was great and had a lot of fun with the DevilBearRock girls in the photo pit (check them out – http://www.devilbearrock.com/).

Only if our eyes knew what they were going to see next.. But that- in the Stone Sour gallery.
